By accessing, browsing, or placing an order through our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Return & Replacement Policy, and any additional policies published on our website.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or purchase our products.

Akhar Khana is an online bookstore specializing in Punjabi books, including novels, poetry, history, biographies, literature, religious books, educational books, and other publications.

"Company," "We," "Us," and "Our" refer to Akhar Khana.

"Products" refer to books, bookmarks, accessories, gift items, or any merchandise offered on our website.

"Order" means a confirmed purchase placed through our website.

4. ELIGIBILITY

To place an order, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age; or

  • Be purchasing under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By placing an order, you confirm that all information provided by you is accurate, complete, and truthful.

Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information may result in cancellation of your order and restriction from future purchases.

5. ACCEPTANCE OF ORDERS

Every order placed on Akhar Khana is subject to acceptance.

Receiving an order confirmation email or payment confirmation does not automatically mean that your order has been accepted.

We reserve the right to:

  • Accept or reject any order.

  • Cancel any suspicious or fraudulent transaction.

  • Refuse service to anyone violating these Terms.

  • Limit quantities purchased by any individual.

  • Cancel orders due to pricing errors.

  • Cancel orders due to stock unavailability.

In such cases, any eligible prepaid amount received by us will be refunded through the original payment method.

6. PAYMENT OPTIONS

We accept both Prepaid and Cash on Delivery orders. Customers are encouraged to choose prepaid payment for faster and smoother order processing.

Prepaid orders are processed after successful payment confirmation. Cash on Delivery orders are processed after order confirmation.

7. PRODUCT INFORMATION

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that product descriptions, images, prices, author names, publishers, editions, ISBNs, and specifications displayed on our website are accurate.

However, occasional human errors may occur.

If any information is found to be inaccurate, we reserve the right to correct it without prior notice.

8. BOOK COVER & EDITION VARIATIONS

Publishers frequently update:

  • Cover artwork

  • Printing style

  • Fonts

  • Paper quality

  • Binding

  • ISBN labels

  • Publisher logos

  • Edition information

Therefore, the actual book delivered may differ slightly from the product images displayed on our website.

Such variations are normal publishing practices and shall not be treated as incorrect products, damaged products, or valid grounds for return or replacement.

9. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

All products listed on our website are subject to stock availability.

Occasionally, a book may become unavailable after an order has been placed.

In such cases, we reserve the right to:

  • Cancel the order;

  • Offer an alternative edition (only with customer consent); or

  • Issue a refund for the unavailable item.

10. PRICING

All prices displayed on our website are in Indian Rupees (INR).

Prices may change without prior notice.

Although we strive to maintain accurate pricing, technical or typographical errors may occasionally occur.

If a pricing error is discovered after an order is placed, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the amount paid.

11. PAYMENT

We accept secure online payments through approved payment gateways.

Your payment information is processed securely by trusted payment providers.

Akhar Khana does not store your complete debit card, credit card, banking, or UPI credentials.

Payment authorization is subject to the policies of your bank or payment provider.

12. ORDER CONFIRMATION

Once payment is successfully received:

  • An order confirmation will be generated.

  • Your order enters processing.

  • Our team begins preparing your books for dispatch.

Customers should carefully review all order details immediately after placing an order.

If any correction is required, contact us immediately before your order is packed.

13. ADDRESS ACCURACY

Customers are solely responsible for providing:

  • Correct name

  • Complete address

  • Landmark

  • PIN Code

  • Mobile number

Akhar Khana shall not be responsible for delays, failed deliveries, additional courier charges, or returned shipments resulting from incorrect or incomplete address information.

14. ORDER PACKING

Every order is carefully inspected before dispatch.

Books are securely packed using suitable protective packaging to minimize the risk of transit damage.

After an order has been packed, it is considered ready for shipment.

Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been packed.

15. FREE BOOKMARK POLICY

Every eligible book order includes one complimentary bookmark, subject to availability.

Please note:

  • Bookmarks are promotional gifts.

  • Bookmark designs may vary.

  • Colors and materials may differ.

  • Complimentary bookmarks carry no monetary value.

  • Bookmarks cannot be exchanged, replaced, or redeemed for cash.

Failure to receive a specific bookmark design shall not constitute grounds for cancellation, refund, or replacement.

16. SHIPPING

We currently deliver across India.

Shipping is offered free unless otherwise specified during checkout.

Orders are generally dispatched within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation.

Dispatch timelines may vary during festivals, holidays, sales events, adverse weather conditions, or unforeseen operational circumstances.

17. ESTIMATED DELIVERY

Estimated delivery timelines are:

North India

3–5 Working Days

Rest of India

4–10 Working Days

These timelines are estimates only and should not be interpreted as guaranteed delivery commitments.

Actual delivery depends on courier networks, local accessibility, weather, public holidays, strikes, government restrictions, and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

18. COURIER DELAYS

Once your order has been handed over to the courier partner, delivery is managed by the courier company.

Akhar Khana shall not be held responsible for delays caused by:

  • Weather conditions

  • Natural disasters

  • Political disturbances

  • Public holidays

  • Traffic disruptions

  • Courier operational issues

  • Remote location servicing

  • Government restrictions

  • Force majeure events

We will, however, make reasonable efforts to assist customers in tracking and resolving delivery issues.

19. ORDER TRACKING

Once your order is shipped, tracking details will be shared through the registered communication channel whenever available.

Customers are encouraged to monitor shipment progress using the provided tracking information.

Failure to monitor delivery updates resulting in delayed acceptance or returned shipments shall remain the customer's responsibility.

20. DELIVERY ATTEMPTS

Customers should remain available to receive their shipment.

Repeated failed delivery attempts due to customer unavailability may result in the parcel being returned by the courier.

Additional shipping charges, if applicable for re-dispatch, shall be borne by the customer.

21. REFUSAL TO ACCEPT DELIVERY

Customers are expected to accept delivery of confirmed prepaid orders.

Refusal to accept delivery without a valid reason may result in restrictions on future purchases from Akhar Khana.

Repeated misuse of the ordering system may lead to permanent suspension of purchasing privileges.
